Youth Programs: Fall 2016

Health is Wealth: A healthy cooking class that doesn't only cook good food, but food that is also good for our health! Youth also dive deep into learning about holistic health and learning, and addressing health issues with in there community. 

Fashion: "Fashion 101"  is an introduction to the Fashion world. We will explore textile, patterns, basic sewing skills, fashion promotion within marketing and more.

Girls Group: Calling all girls!  Meet with other girls to promote self-esteem, help create a positive self-image, know how to handle peer pressure, under stand the importance of health and fitness, plan your future, and think about how to become a positive role model, learn leadership skills, and more.....

Volleyball: Want to play  team sport? Learn new skills and get a workout while playing with friends! Volleyball is a fun and active sport to play and watch! 

Flag Football: Flag Football is a coed sport where the youth engage in leadership, team building, and physical training skills. The program offers the tools to succeed as a student athlete.

Soccer: We have 2 soccer teams in ASP, one for girls and another for boys. The teams participate in 2 leagues, America Scores and SFUSD league. The program offers the youth the chance to work as a team, develop physical skills and network with other youth around the city.

Martial Arts: A class that learns the techniques of Muay Thai (A thai style kickboxing that also utilizes knees, and elbows) for self defense, and fitness. Class is taught by a trainer who has studied the art for 10 years.

Polynesian Dance: Polynesian is all about the culture and community love. Dancing is one of the way Polynesian people to impress how they feel. Performance is the way for Polynesian people to come together, that the reason the community becomes unity. Aiga (family) 

Athlete Academy: Student-Athlete Academy provides student-athletes a supportive environment to complete homework and class projects, support in gaining study skills to succeed as a young adult, and inspiration to become a leader both today and in the future. Academy participants are given studying techniques that enable them to recognize their full potential as student-athletes.
